Navigate 2.1.3 Commercial Versus Open Virtual Classrooms

Open source applications are free and have many of the same features as the pay version, however, it’s more complicated installation than the commercial versions. Some students may find it difficult to configure the software and the number of students that can use the software may be restricted due to bandwidth issues. Commercial applications are fairly simple to set up and usually don’ t use a lot of bandwidth to run.  One more thing is that open source applications depend on a community of developers to support and improve the software, unlike commercial versions that have their own developers.
