The Three Standards
The three standards for area of study are: 1) Able to identify four generations of immediate family members; 2) Able to use correct kinship terms for immediate family members; 3) Able to describe each immediate family member with a short sentence.
Student will do a hand-drawn report on his/her family tree traced back to four generations on both sides of the family. The correct Chinese kinship terms need to be labeled at the appropriate places in the family tree. Only student’s immediate family members (siblings, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents) need to be included in the report.
Each student was provided with a copy of the rubric, which was used to assess the assignment. I chose to use traditional written feedback for this assignment.
The following is an example of the feedback given to a student.
